Playing regulations
The Railway House Cup League will utilise the playing regulations of the Sturminster Newton Skittles League with the following exceptions:
1) Players do not need to be registered, however once they have played ‘above the line’ for one team in the competition they cannot play for another. Please ensure anyone who is ‘roped-in’ at the last minute is made aware of this.
2) In the event that team cannot muster eight players, they play with a minimum of six players. The missing player(s) will score 4 pins per hand - 24 in total (each).
3) Ladies (Maximum of 4 per team) will be awarded an extra 4 pins each on the 6th hand. This does not apply to missing players!
4) Players will alternate in 4th Leg which will be the ‘Beer Leg’. In the event of level scores between opposite players the ‘beer’ will roll-over to the 5th hand.
5) Games may be re-arranged by agreement between the captains. Available dates will be shown on the fixture list. For other dates please consult a member of staff.
6) First named teams to provide ‘stickers-up’. Try to start at 8.30pm.
7) Please complete a result card and ensure that the following information is recorded:
a. Players names
b. Highest male score
c. Highest female score
d. Number of ‘spares’, ‘floppers’, and ‘oxos’ by player
e. Individual & Team totals
f. Team with highest number of pins in beer leg (4th hand)
8) Only scores ‘above the line’ count towards awards.
9) Presentation Night will be on Friday 11th July when the following awards will be made:
a. House Cup
b. Shield
c. Highest Average (Male & Female)
d. Highest Score (Male & Female)
e. Most Devastation (Spares & Floppers)
f. Beer Cup
g. Wooden Spoon
h. Oxo Trophy
In the event of any ties, play-offs will take place immediately prior to the presentation ceremony.
